The Sony A-mount 18-250mm f/3.5-6.3 DC Macro HSM from Sigma is an all-in-one zoom offering great versatility within a sleek form factor. The 27-375mm equivalent range is complemented by an advanced optical design that uses low dispersion and aspherical elements to reduce aberrations and distortion throughout the zoom range. A Super Multi-Layer Coating has also been applied to control flare and ghosting for improved contrast and color fidelity. Additionally, balancing the optics, the zoom also features a Hyper Sonic Motor, which provides quick, smooth, and quiet autofocus performance with full-time manual focus override.

All-in-one zoom is designed for APS-C-format Sony A-mount cameras and provides a 27-375mm equivalent focal length range.

One Special Low Dispersion (SLD) element is featured in the optical design and helps to reduce color fringing and chromatic aberrations for improved clarity and color accuracy.

Three aspherical elements are used to help limit distortion and spherical aberrations and also contribute to greater overall sharpness and accurate rendering.

Super Multi-Layer Coating has been applied to individual elements to minimize flare and ghosting for improved contrast and color accuracy when working in strong lighting conditions.

Hyper Sonic Motor (HSM), along with an internal focusing design, realizes quick and quiet autofocus performance as well as full-time manual focus override.

Minimum focusing distance of 1.1' and a 1:2.9 maximum magnification ratio benefits working with close-up subjects.

Constructed using a Thermally Stable Composite (TSC) material for greater precision and use in wide temperature variations. Additionally, a brass bayonet affords improved mounting accuracy and rigidity.

The rounded seven-blade diaphragm contributes to a pleasing bokeh quality.

William B. ★★★★★

Rented one before and finally bought it used — the Hyper Sonic Motor locks focus fast even in low light. The 18-250mm range covers everything from landscapes to casual macro without swapping glass. A bit heavy on the wide end but worth it for the versatility.

Ryan ★★★★★

The autofocus with the Hyper Sonic Motor is whisper-quiet and locks on fast, even in low light. I've been shooting handheld all week and the 27-375mm range covers everything from street shots to distant wildlife without swapping glass. Image quality is sharp for a superzoom, especially stopped down

Mia C. ★★★★★

I was hesitant buying a used lens, but the autofocus is snappy and quiet thanks to that HSM motor, and the 27-375mm equivalent range covers everything from portraits to far-off wildlife without me swapping glass. The f/3.5 aperture at the wide end is decent for indoor shots, and the macro capability
