- Design and Material: It is a circular, snap-on (sometimes described as twist-on) lens hood made of black metal. It can be reversed to slide over the lens barrel for compact storage.
- Mounting: It attaches via a snap-on mechanism to lenses with a 52mm filter thread.
- Primary Compatibility: It is specifically designed for the Nikkor 50mm f/2 lens.
- Additional Compatibility: It has also been found to be compatible with other 50mm lenses, including certain versions of the 50mm f/1.8 AI/AIS/AF D and 50mm f/1.4 lenses, provided they have a 52mm filter thread.
