TiffenNeutral Density 0.6 Filter

Finally got this ND filter for outdoor portraits and the way it cuts that harsh midday glare is exactly what I needed. The exposure balance stays consistent even when I stop down to control depth of field.

The 55mm diameter fits my lens perfectly, and it controls depth of field just as described. I've been getting much better detail in bright scenes since using it, with no more blown-out highlights during midday shoots.

Finally getting properly balanced exposures with my manual camera, the exposure control and fixed depth of field have made shooting at F-stop 2 much more predictable. Charges about 40 minutes? No, it’s a filter, but it works perfectly to tame harsh mid-day light.
